The Cairns Gem Club has one of the best equipped faceting rooms in Queensland. We proudly use Hall Faceting Machines of which we have 10. The room is open to experienced members and beginners alike and qualified instructors run individual classes as required.
Lapidary
Our Lapidary room has 7, six wheel cabbing machines and several other polishing/finishing machines. There are several slab and trim saws to prepare your stones for shaping and polishing. Our experienced cabbing teacher Allen, is happy to pass on his amazing skills and all members pride themselves on helping out the less experienced members, whenever they ask for help.
We have 9 fully equipped jewellery making desks with different heights and adjustable chairs to allow for all sized members. Our Club runs classes on a regular basis and conducts workshops for individual projects. We have several experienced members who are always happy to pass on their skills and knowledge.
