The support of Community Benefit Funds is undeniably the only way many small organisations such as ours can continue to do the wonderful work they do.
Our strong band of hard working and committed volunteers have enabled our club to grow and improve our facilities to a very professional level while at the same time, enhancing our reputation as a truly community minded and community driven cultural asset to the City of Cairns.

THE COMMUNITY BENEFIT FUND
Once again this wonderful organization has come through for us with funds to enable us to purchase 3 faceting machines. Our faceting room is always bust and members are delighted with these locally made faceting machines. We are very appreciative to this fund as it would take many years of patient saving to purchase the machines, which will be a big asset in the club's gem cutting section.

THE COMMUNITY BENEFIT FUND
Funds from The Community Benefit Fund has enabled us to have solar power connected to our building. This will make a considerable saving over the years with electricity prices always increasing.

CAIRNS CITY COUNCIL GRANT ARTS & CULTURAL INFRASTRUCTURE GRANTS
The Cairns City Council gave us $50,000 towards contruction of a jewellery room. WOW what a difference this has made to our silversmithing.
This extra area has made it possible to have a dedicated teaching area with 3 fully equiped benches and another 6 fully equiped benches for members who are not doing classes.
The Cairns City Council also gave us funds from the Art & Cultural Infastructure Grant towards the repair and resurface of our roof so that we could have the solar panels placed on it. This was wonderful and with funds from the Council, the Bridge Club and ourselves we were able to have these repairs carried out.
CAIRNS RSL MEMORIAL COMMUNITY BENEFIT FUND
We are celebrating a successful application for a grant from the Cairns RSL Memorial Community Benefit Fund for a beautiful Hall’s faceting machine. Members are delighted with this locally made faceting machine and are very appreciative to this fund as it would take many years of patient saving to purchase the machine, which will be a big asset in the club's gem cutting section.

CAZALYS COMMUNITY FUND
This wonderful Community Fund has very generously donated $2,000 towards the purchase of new, professionally made jewellery benches.
The new benches are sturdy and modern and are more user friendly. They are ergonomically structured to cater for hours of use.
A big thank you to Cazalys for their support to the community. They have given $60,000 each year for the last 3 years to local organisations to help them continue with their great work in the community.
